Biogas

Biogas is a clean and renewable fuel gas produced through the decomposition of cow dung, agricultural waste, and food waste. In the present time, the shortage of gas cylinders and rising fuel prices have become major issues, affecting both common people and farmers. In such a situation, biogas proves to be a cheap, local, and sustainable alternative that converts waste into energy, reduces costs, and helps protect the environment. Under the guidance of Ranjit Deshmukh, 1500 biogas units have been successfully installed.

The biogas process starts in the cattle shed, where dung is collected using mechanical scrapers and sent to a collection pit. It is then mixed and fed into a digester, where microorganisms break down organic matter to produce methane gas (biogas). This gas is used for power generation (CHP unit). The remaining material, called digestate, is separated into solid and liquid forms and used to produce high-quality organic fertilizer. This entire process supports energy production, waste management, and environmental protection.
